Thirty-something

Papa Bear recently turned thirty-something. At the last minute, we decided to have a BBQ with some close friends. Sam wanted to bake a cake for his papa and so we got to task early in the morning. And by early, I mean 7am people. Despite the early rising, Sam's first job was sorting out the M&M's by color. He did this task really well especially since an additional job required him to eat the ones that were "defective." According to Sam, there were "lots of defective" ones. This raised an eyebrow but I ignored it.

The kids then decorated the cake with their favorite color. Notice that Izzy is doing less "decorating" and more eating:

Although it was Daddy's day to shine, Izzy stole the show with her display of proper cake-eating technique...

Step 1: Smile

Step 2: Take a big bite by placing entire piece of cake up to your face (Note Diego's intense understanding of this technique in the background)

Step 3: Wash away frosting with liquid refreshment

Step 4: Model the mess you've made on your cute shirt

Happy Birthday, Daddy! We love you mucho :)

FYI: Sam named him "Sunny" because he was bright. Our golden monkey is a sweetheart.

Sleepyhead

I was washing dishes the other day and noticed Izzy was really quiet. Surprised by this behavior, I went to check in on her in the living room and this is what I found:
