Goblin Jamboree

In the spirit of Halloween, Sam and I headed over to the Bay Area Discovery Museum for some spooky fun. The museum converts itself into a fun-filled Halloween fest where kids can earn prizes and wear their Halloween costumes. Sam, of course, donned his pirate costume and became known as Pirate Captain Samuel.

While on land, PCS participated in some physical activity to loosen up his sea legs...

Although he fights the scurvy pirates at sea, he indulged this witch in a race to the finish:

After beating the witch at her racing game, PCS decided to bowl upon the grave of Frank N. Stein:

He also took a couple of puts on the "green":

Because of his new encounters with witches and goblins, Pirate Captain Samuel decided to go to "Witch's School" and learn about magic potions:

He graduated suma cum laude and got to wear this hat:

Ever the watchful pirate, Pirate Captain Samuel took a moment to look back on his ship in the San Francisco Bay:

Because Pirate Captain Samuel has two identities, his friend Ben, who also possesses an alter ego, came upon the ship as Robin, the caped-crusader:

Here is the caped crusader showing off his muscles....

In what was perhaps the most gentle moment of the day, Pirate Captain Samuel and Robin petted a few animals with one finger only. Apparently, their listening abilities are heigtened when in costume:

This moment was short-lived however, as, later in the day, they beat up on "Clo," as in "Clo the Cow" from Clover Stronetta Farms Dairy by poking and prodding at her generous middle:

Upon entering the "Haunted Cove," Pirate Captain Samuel was happy to see a fellow pirate:

PCS and Robin found a beautiful maiden, Miss Ella:

They decided to take a spin together on a train ride...

In order to keep up with their duties, PCS and Robin shared some lunch with fellow land-lovers:

After chowing down, Pirate Captain Samuel and Robin found friends from school: Bella, Ella and Sadie. Together, the five of them rode the twirling pumkin with Papa Jason (who, by the way, gets a virtual high five for riding the twirling pumpkin not once, but twice, and smiling through my quick nomination process to have him ride the pumpkin instead of moi)

Once his land legs were well exercised, Pirate Captain Samuel returned to his ship and prepared for his next voyage at sea. The End.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...Super Sam!

In preparation for his flight to Seattle this weekend, Sam put in a few practice flights compliments of our hallway and his Super Sam cape. Enjoy

Newsflash: Isabella Crawls...Sorta

Ok, so she gets a little help from the wood floor but before I started recording her, she crawled from the blanket on the carpet to the wood floor you see her on. Enjoy!

Abuelita Turns 91 and She Still Parties Like a Rockstar

This past weekend, we took a quick trip to LA to celebrate Abuelita's 91st birthday. Listen, she may be really old but the woman parties like no other. She had three parties in one week and two of them were in the same weekend. The woman has stamina! We all had a great time celebrating her ninth decade plus one year of life! Our weekend together consisted of food, fun, birthday cake, and pictures. The pictures below are from our Saturday celebrations but let it be known that the night before, Abuelita had a celebratory dinner with Aunt Teri, Tia Sonia, Nana, Izzy B, myself.

Below, Meter begins the antics at Porto's:

Nay Nay was also able to join in the mayhem:

Can you believe we've known each other for nineteen years? Crazy.

Sam's current favorite trick is making his thumb disappear...Below, Meter gives him some fiesty competition on who can make their thumb disappear faster:

Some silliness with Tia Sonia and Meter:

After eating lunch at Porto's, we headed to Palmdale for Elan's soccer game. They lost but we had a good time watching.

Here is a picture of Rey, the coolest thirteen-year-old in the world.

And here's Bell looking "windblown":

Bosom buddies:

I'm not sure what was so funny but these lauhing ladies are cracking up:

Once the game was over, we went to Mama's house for dinner and cake. Below are a series of family shots with the birthday girl:
Abue, Rey Sam and Elan...

Lastly, here is Abuelita with most of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Felicidades, Abuelita! Te queremos muchisisimo!

Move Over Beckham, Marsh is in Training

I'm not one to brag or anything but Sam has some serious soccer skills. He must get his athleticism from me. Recently, the little man started his soccer league practice with his buddies Ben and Declan. If you recall, this is the troublesome trio that played baseball together. Fortunately, Sam pays way more attention at soccer practice. Brad and I think it's because Coach Tim asks the team to "rev" their engines and nothing gets Sam going like a good race. Below are some shots of the future pro soccer player. You heard it here first folks....

Here he practices how to stop the ball:

Coach Tim had the boys run through a couple of drills....

I am particularly fond of this shot because this is representative of what normally happens at our house except, this time, Sam is probably saying, "What,Coach?" instead of "What, Mami?"

Sam, highly intense and focused:

If you click on this picture, you can see Sam's eyes wild with happiness....he really did have a great time.
