Little Lady Turns 4!!!!

Izzy had THREE birthday celebrations for her fourth birthday on December 12th. I couldn't tell you which one was her favorite because she was pumped about all of them. Mostly, she was pumped about (a) getting presents and (b) eating something sweet.

Party #1

Her first party was held at our house with six of her girlfriends. She wanted to have a few boys over but I went ahead and vetoed that because, well, a party with boys in the house turns out looking a lot like Jersey Shore. Instead, I insisted we keep it to her best lady pals and the only "boys" would be her brothers and papa bear. It was a very chill party. And by "chill" I mean no one yelled, screamed, or otherwise got upset about anything in particular.

Girl-only parties rock!

And since the little ladies were so civilized, I made civilized cupcakes:

Cute, yes?

Party #2

Fiesta number 2 was held on her actual birthday with my standard yellow cake with chocolate frosting. This was much easier to make and was consumed quite quickly!

Party #3

Celebration #3 was held at school. This celebration always makes me cry. The school asks that we bring in one picture for each year she has been born. They set up a candle in the middle of the rug, place the pictures in the center, and then place the names of the month in a circle around the candle. The candle represents the sun. They then ask Izzy to take a walk around the months of the year and talk about what she could do at each age. As she takes her metaphorical walk around the sun, completing one year of life, she talks about what she has learned to do in the past year. Its a really beautiful ceremony. For this celebration, Izzy made chocolate dipped strawberries for her friends and teachers.

Happy, happy birthday to our lovely Little Lady!
